PIPING HOT NEW WORKS

DEC 7 - 10, 2017

From Lovecraft monsters to poisoned brownies, Piping Hot New Works proudly presented six brand new plays from playwrights all across the USA. Set in a staged-reading format, six short works took our audiences all across the theatrical spectrum. With plays from Arizona, New York, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, our series of New Works had something for everyone. Ranging from comedy to tragedy, this diverse night of theatre entertained even the wildest imaginations and left them wanting more.

How does our selection process work?

All of the Pipedream board members play a role in the process of choosing the final work we present. We accept anonymous submissions through e-mail. Executive Director, Trevor Fulton, and Director of Marketing, Alexis Robbins, managed the e-mail account. They would review the materials sent to the company and be the playwrights' main point of contact. Ashley Campbell (Associate Artistic Director), Tony Ryan (Artistic Director), and Katie Walker (Literary Manager) were responsible for reading and rating all submissions. After all plays were read and scored, all of Pipedream sat in a room and selected plays based on rating, technical requirements and casting. We received over 200 submissions in a month for our first new works festival.

If you have a play you'd like us to consider, send it to submissions@pipedreamproductions.net. We are always looking for new work to produce. Keep in mind that we are interested in work that pushes boundaries and asks more of our audience than traditional theatre.
